We live in Hampton Greens and have
received a letter about our basketball hoop. Can you please tell me where it
states that these basketball hoops are NOT permitted. I have searched our
Hampton Greens docs and find no mention of this. Thanks
This is in regards to the notice I have received about my basketball net
being in violation of section 3.11 of the covenants. First of all, we do have
'adequate' landscaping surrounding our net as per the bylaws you have supplied
me. Therefore, I really do not know why the board feels that I am
non-compliant. If I add anymore landscaping, the kids will not be able to get
near the basketball net in order to actually use it. As it stands now, it is
tucked back as far as it can go.
Secondly, the notice I received states that if I do not remedy this violation,
a fine will be added to my assessment. I was unable to find in the bylaws
where I can be 'fined' for such actions. Could you direct me to where I would
find that information?
Lastly, I know that many of my neighbors have received the same violation. The
nature of our kid-friendly neighborhood is what has attracted many of our
residents. We work together to keep our children 'safe' off of the streets.
Having sports equipment helps us to do that. As a parent of young children, I
try to keep my children on lawns so that they are not at risk for the drivers
that speed in our neighborhood. And we have plenty of them!!!!!!
We have been here for eight years now. We stay to ourselves. I hope that this
is not indicative to a new change that is going to disrupt the good balance
that we have worked hard to achieve in our neighborhood.

As part of fixing a plumbing problem on Lake Run Dr a sewer cleanout plug was installed at the edge of the property. The problem appears that the cleanout was installed sticking too far out of the ground and is now destined to remain as an unsightly attraction to those driving by.
If someone on the board could contact the property owner quickly, the homeowner could call the plumbing firm that did the work and ask them to reinstall that cleanout fitting. It should be flush with the ground as are nearly all of the other cleanout fittings. It just looks like the two guys doing the work did a poor installation. If, however, the board has to write a letter and wait 30 days for a response then it is likely that this problem will not be resolved and the unsightly white cleanout fitting will become another eyesore in the community.
Hopefully this problem can be corrected. I do not personally know the homeowner and do not have
any authority to ask them to fix the problem.
