Question 1: The mailboxes in Mahogany Run North are in various states of disrepair. Who is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the individual posts and boxes? Is there a plan to go to a new design like the mailboxes in Walden Lakes? (metal vs. wood) See Response
Question 2: Can you tell me when the Mail boxes in Mahogany Run North will be painted and repaired? Many on our street have rotted off at the base and need replacement. See Response
Question 3, March 2009: Dear Board of Directors: A few of the owners that live in Sabal Dunes, The Cottages, and Hidden Links were wondering when their mailboxes were going to be repaired / painted in that many of the other mailboxes were done in Gateway Greens. I spoke with Lourdes McLeod of Alliant Property Management about this in an attempt to obtain an answer for our owners. Lourdes explained to me that the Gateway Greens Board authorized for the mailboxes for single family homes in Gateway Greens to be painted out of the Gateway Greens budget, but the Board did not authorize for the painting of any mailboxes in any of the Sub Associations. You can just imagine the response of the owners when I shared this reply with. In a nut shell, they don't understand why they have to contribute (through the Gateway Greens budget) to support the repair/maintenance of some of the mailboxes within Gateway Greens but have to pay out of pocket to repair/maintain their own mailboxes. I have to agree with them. This does not appear to be equitable. In addition, there are Condominium Associations within Gateway that use alternative mail delivery boxes and they do not appear to be part of the mailbox maintenance policy either. Again, I stress that this new policy does not present as equitable. On behalf of those owners, I am appealing to the Board of Directors to amend the maintenance program of the mailboxes within Gateway Greens to include those mailboxes in the Sub Associations or to extend to the owners in the Sub Association financial relief with regard to the cost of the maintenance of the mailboxes in the single family homes. I would appreciate a written response from the Board of Directors that I may share with the owners that live within The Cottages, Sabal Dunes, and Hidden Links. In that I have managed in Gateway for many many years, I am very aware of the each of the previous policies of Gateway Greens regarding mailbox maintenance.
